The Subversive Edge of Psychoanalysis:

A Conversation with David James Fisher
with Thomas Helscher and Zach Oldenberg

Led by David James Fisher, Ph.D.

Join us for an open and free-ranging conversation about the political history and current political situation of psychoananalysis with Zach Oldenberg, candidate at LAISPS and political activist, and Tom Helscher, Co-Chair of the Program Committee at LAISPS. Co-sponsored by Community West, providing mental health to adolescents and young adults.

About the Presenter

Jimmy Fisher has been actively engaged in thinking and writing about the unique place of psychoanalysis in our culture and politics for over 20 years. His work is situated in the critical place psychoanalysis has occupied throughout its history, both inside and outside of our institutions, constructing and deconstructing our shared narratives about what makes us human, what constitutes healing, and how psychoanalysis can make the world a better place, when it isn’t collaborating with the forces of obstruction and repression in our society.
